As part of the People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI) series on women’s health that covers the wide arc of women’s reproductive health, Newsworthy.Studio’s Anubha Bhonsle authored 11 long-form pieces based on ground reporting and insights from citizens, public health workers.

The Challenge

Centre lived experiences of girls, women and gender minorities in India’s family planning discourse

The Outcome

Eleven long form reported pieces from across India for PARI’s series on women’s health

Exploring Women’s Health with PARI

The stories cover the stigma around infertility, the emphasis on female sterilisation, the lack of ‘male engagement’ in family planning, inadequate rural healthcare systems that too are out of reach for many, unqualified medical practitioners and dangerous childbirths, and requirements for maternal health. Through our work with PARI, we aim to report on these vital topics and drive meaningful conversations around women’s health.
